Gather to worship at National Day of
Prayer services

In
honor of the 57th National Day of Prayer, services will be held Thursday along
the Wasatch Front.
This year's theme, "Prayer! America's Strength and
Shield," is based on Psalm 28:7, "The Lord is my strength and shield;
my heart trusts in him, and I am helped."
People are encouraged to exercise their religious freedom by
gathering publicly to worship and pray.
Scheduled services include:
* 7:30 to 9 a.m.: Mountain Life Church
Silver Creek Subdivision, Park City, will hold a prayer
breakfast. For more information, call Tim Dahlin at 435-649-2260 or visit

* 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.: Ogden City Building, between
24th and 25th streets on Washington Boulevard in Ogden; local evangelical
pastors will lead the prayer.
* 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 p.m. Thursday: Vernal Christian Church, 1845 W. 750 South,
Vernal, is holding a 24-hour prayer vigil. For more information, e-mail Jenifer

* 6:30 to 8 p.m.: Area pastors will offer prayers on behalf
of the nation, state and city in the rotunda of the Utah State Capital, 350 N.
Main St., Salt Lake City. Special music also will be featured.
* 7 to 8 p.m.: in front of the Layton City Building, 437 N. Wasatch Drive, Layton. Pastors Tom Koehler
and Peter Kind from Christ Community Church will lead the service.
* 7 to 8 p.m.: Robinson's Park, 100 E. Main St., American Fork. Call
